At the beginning of the season Apple Toddy looked to Ik; a high-class colt, but hardly lived up to his promise. Frank Harper Hawkins, owner "of the Nanlura Slock Farm, the home of Longfellow, is to be married to Miss Elizabeth Rodgers of Versailles. Hawkins Is a nephew of Frank Harper and inherited Nantura Stock Farm at the dcatli of that noted turfman several years ago. Harry Broinberg, who was employed by Burlew and ONeill in breaking yearlings, died at. the Sarifc; toga Hospital as the result of being thrown I lks-Sunday. Concussion of the brain resulted fronfajA fall and he never regained consciousness. BroitnB was a Brooklyn lad who had only been in thfl ploy of Burlew and ONeill for a short time. TH
