Sal Aolatile ran into the lead at the start and won all the way decisively and shows steady improvement. Zicuap, outpaced in the early stages, finished very fast. Sir John Johnson was in close and strenuous early pursuit of the winner and tired finally after a good race. Yorkist came fast from the rear and so did Battleaxe. Pantoutle failed to stay after a good display of early speed. Frank Lord showed his usual speed, but quit very badly and seems to have lost his once good form completely. Chantilly ran a poor race and can do better. AVon in a canter; second and third driving. Aimee C. drew out quickly and held sway to the end unextended, is fresh and good and was much the best. Jane Swift was always in nearest pursuit of the winner and, beating the others off at the end, ran a remarkably good race. St. Ilario got into third position directlv and, staying there, finished with his rider sitting still. Hollister held forth far in the rear early and finished with a belated rush and acts like a stayer. Bridge AAhist. also far back in the early running, finished verv last and also ran as if he likes a long distance. Rara Avis was well up for five furlongs. Doily Spanker was skillfully reserved in close pursuit of the pacemaker to midway of the stretch, where he rushed to the front and made good decisively. Grapple ran lapped on the pacemaker to the stretch, where he went wide and dropped back, but came on again right at the end under a weak and inadequate finish. Orphan Lad was unexpectedly close up from the start, went wide on the turn and lost inuca ground, but finished fast and ran an excellent race. Faust trailed the others to the far turn, where lie loomed up menacingly, but tired in the closing drive. Tony Bonero made the running and skinned the inside rail closely on the last turn and stole away in the stretch, but quit in the closing flrive Scratched 713il2Dieaiiier, 110; 71421 Frank Lord, 98. Ironsides, after being reserved within striking distance, moved up on the last turn, but went wide and then was pulled over to the inside again and could not quite get up in a game closing effort. Elfall trailed to the stretch, where he outstayed J. F. Donohue for third place. The Litter, nearly left at the post, was rushed up in nearest attendance on the leader and tired finallv. Sea Wolf, always within striking distance, finished with a sensational rush, but boring out and losing ground with every stride. Gretna Green set. the pace from the start and, after being hard ridden to shake oft Don Creole In the stretcli, succumbed finally. Don Creole carried the leader along very fast for six furlongs, but "failed to stay. Charles G. Gates was hopelessly ou; paced all the way.
