HOW COLIN GOT HIS BIG HOCK. New York, October 17. The facts regarding the origin of Colins hig hock are these. When a yearling last fall Colin was kicked on the outside of the bony part of the hock of his left hind leg, and the bone was cracked. Autiphlogistine was applied to draw out the soreness. Instead of doing so it had the effect of drawing out the oil in the ! joint and left the hock enlarged. The enlarged 1 part has been steadily reduced during the season 1 by massage, and the swelling is hardly perceptible . now. It is a fact that yesterday Colin trotted to , the lwst sore in front, which was slightly more , apparent after the race.
