Inauguration ran as if much the best, took a long lead at once and, maintaining a fast and steady pace throughout, won well in hand. Merrigo, after suffering from interference in the early stages, closed a big gap and finished fast and gamely. Orena was a sharp factor all the way and ran a good race. Divorcee tired after being prominent in the running for a half. Marion Moore tired badly In the last three Itirlongs and can do much better. Third Rail laeked speed and was badly outrun throughout. Mark Time set the earl3- pace, but seemed to tire on the stretch turn and fell back, only to come again under a hard drive and win out in the last stride. Refined wore the leaders down in the stretch and was going well at the end, but her rider was unprepared for the winners final rush. No Qmrter showed superior speed, but tired unexpectedly in the last twenty yards. Fay went wide most of the way. Miss Paddcn, awaj poorly, ran a good race. Electorine ran poorly and can do much better. The winner was entered for 400: no bid. Scratched 71404 Captain Pearson, 105. - A AQ TIIIRD RACE 7-8 Mile. 5G1S9 1 :253 3 104. Bottles, running to his best form and well ridden, raced Woolstone into subjection in the first three-quarters and won going away. Telegrapher was prominent most of the way and stood the final drive gamely. County Clerk, iioorly ridden, was taken back in the first half and went wide into the stretch, but finished with a rush through the last quarter and would have been second in a few more strides. Woolstone showed sud-deu improvement .and much speed, but tired near the end. Beatrice K. was never prominent and can do much better. Kemp Ridgeley was a distant trailer all the way. Rebel Queen saved much ground all the way and, running to her best form, came with a rush in the last furlong and wore Joe Moser down in the closing strides. Joe Moser had the best of the start and showed the most early speed, raced Marbles into subjection, but tired slightly near the end as if short. Han-bridge, badly ridden, was. kept far back in the early running and, when gaining in the stretch, seemed to be eased up by his rider. The Clansman ran as if best and, aided by good racing luck, showed the most speed all the way, but his rider was careless in the final furlong and almost caused him to be beat out. Louise Mccfarlan had a rough trip and suffered from much Interference in the first three-quarters, but came fast when clear anil finished gamely. Henry O. ran in improved form and was right there at the end. High Bear ran a good iace and was prominent from the start, but tired slightly in the final drive. Bellevlew came from a long way back. Water Lake ran fairly well. Savoir Falre and Bitter Brown quit in the last half. The winner was entered for G00; no bid. Incorrect weight in entries High Bear, 103. Overweights Savoir Faire, 24 pounds.
