NOTES OF THE TURF. Major Eustace Loders smart filly by Gallinule Admiration, an own sister to the famous mare, Pretty Polly, has been named Miranda. The New Zealand sire Cuirassier, which died last month at the age of twenty-twc, was a pretty good racehorse, and an own brother to the much more celebrated Trenton. Velocity will not run in Paris, or probably ever again, one of his tendons having gone wrong. If he had competed at Longchainps 1 much question whether Velocity would have got the severe mile and a half in the Prix du Conseil Municipal, as the race is always run from end. to end. Audax in Horse and Hounds. Oiseau and Water Light have arrived at George II. Whitneys Melrose Stud in Kentucky, where they had been sent by Matt Allen for James B. Brady. They will stand the season of 100S for service to outside mares. Brady, says Allen, might buy some brood mares next year to mate with Oiseau and Waler Light.
