ONeill, suddenly improved, was outrun for the first half mile by Miss Cesarion, but came fast in the stretch under punishment and won going away. Miss. Cesarion was made too much use of in, setting the pace and tired badly in the last quarter. Birmingham ran well and was on the outside of the leaders all the way. Connolly pulled The Belle up at the start. Royal Legend and Chief Deputy ran well and finished gamely. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Pickthue fenced well, but lacked speedi, Amber lumbered along at the one gait all the way. Russell A. was left at tho post nnd lost bis rider at the first jump, where he propped. Avaimteer left the barrier like a scared wolf and dashed into a long lead in the first furlong, showed extreme sueed at all stages and won in a canter. Glimmer, repeatedly bumped into by Fantastic on the liist turn and carried wide, was hard ridden in the last quarter, but could never get up. Solon Shingie broke slowly and closed a big gap on the backstretch, but tired in the last furlong. Fantastic was cased up at the end. Colonel Jack ran well to the stretch and tired. Tlimbet broke through the barrier while at the post and galloped three furlongs, but dashed away at the start and led all the way, but tired in the stretch and had to be hard ridden to stall off Linda Lakes challenge. The latter broke slowly and came wide on the far turn, but finished gamely under punishment and was wearing the winner down at the end. Padrone, interfered with and crowded back at the start, inside up much ground in the last three furlongs. Lee Crest ran well to the stretch aud filially tired under the whip. Ilarmakis, outrun for the first mile, finished gamely and was catching the winner at every stride at the end. Docile outstayed King of the Valley under punishment. The latter showed more early speed than usual, but quit in the last furlong. The winner was entered for 500; no bid. Scratched 71410 Perfector, 100. Ben Stille set the pace fast to the stretch and held on gamely at the end. Restoration broke slowly, but closed a gap and finished with a rush. Dog Rosa ran a good race all the way. Bathmaria showed speed, but quit in the stretch drivfc. Scratched U415 Potent, 102; 71372 Tulip. 102. Overweights Toddles, 3 pounds; Ben Stille, 1.
