GETTING READY .AT NEW ORLEANS. All Stable Room Allotted .Already The Free Badge List Abolished Entirely. New Orleans, La., October .11. E. W. Maginn, who will be racing secretary at both of the tracks here this winter, has returned from Latouia, where he went several Aveeks ago to Iiook horses for the stables at Crescent City and City Park. lie has all of the stalls at both tracks taken by owners, and those owners who have not made reservations will be compelled to secure stable room outside of the tracks. The indications are that there will be nearly 2.0C0 horses in New Orleans this winter, about one-third of them comilg here from New York. The local stockholders of both tracts at a recent meeting .decided to do away with fjee badges for both men and women, and the ch.lnces are that none .will be issued to any one. Tpey also have under consideration the question of effectually suppressing tin- "touting" nuisance in both the ring and grandstands. The eastern system of betting will probably be adopted, and will be put in force at the opening of the meeting at City Park and continue throughout tin; season.
