Glenecho, from a striding outside start, ranged quickly alongside the favorite, forced him along throughout and outstayed him finally in a very close finish. Hooray outbroke bis opponents and held a small lend until iu the last stride or two. then succumbed as if short. Ostrich, nearly left, closed an immense g:!p into a fast coming third. Yada bad no mishaps and was always well up, but tired in the closing drive. Al II. Woods, outpaced in the early stages, closed up well in the last half. MIntberia, away very badly, made up much ground under an inadequate ride. Consistent broke llatfooted and was seemingly outpaced from the start. Inquisitor and Telephone both showed speed, but failed to stav. The winner was entered for SSOO; no bid. Comedienne, after forward and patient pursuit of the pacemaker to the stretch, made good decisively. King Cobalt ran lapped on the pacemakers from Hie start and outstayed Handzarra in grand style. , Handzarra, well up from the start, challenged on tin- inside in the last quarter, but was pocketed in the last furlong and just got up for third place. Okenlte, away badly, closed an immense gap. Aunt Rose hold her position well. Saylor was going well at the end, but was out of bis distance. Sir John Johnson set the pace to the stretch and tired after showing brilliant speed. Firebrand and Athlete were alwavs outpaced. Littleton Maid, a very slow beginner, dropped to the rear quickly and trailed, but came on and outstayed Kndoi-a at the end. The latter showed superior early speed, but failed to stay. Woodlnne moved np quickly on the outside from a slow start, ran in nearest pursuit of the winner to the last turn and came on very resolutely at the end. Alinee C, shut off., and messed about, closed up fast in the middle quarter, but tired finally. Chulita was always outpaced by the first three, but finished well up. Beardall, after being reserved in close attendance on the pacemakers, tired in the last quarter. Trash, away badly, closed a big gap. Miss Mazzoni was prominent for Feven furlongs.
