PROSPECTS BRIGHT AT WASHINGTON. Good Horses in Abundance Ready for Action A Fast Track and Good Weather. Washington, D. C, November 15. Unless all" signs fail the Washington Jockey Club will have the best meeting It lias ever hcM from the standpoint of a good class in the horses here for racing. Ketter horses have been kept in training late thi3 season than in any previous year, and they will race here for the stakes and purses offered by the association, which are worth while in these hard times, even if they do not approach in value those of the regular season on the big New York tracks. The opening -days card is remarkably good, and the horses entered are all here. The fields are. large and in the main so well balanced as to furnish sharp contention and good mediums for speculation, and there will be plenty of the latter, despite the scarcity of ready money. Washington is not in as bad a fix as other cities witli regard to the money question, and the local attendance will be good. Tonight the New York crowd will arrive many hundreds strong. Many horsemen are already here, the horses that raced at Pimlico having moved over to Kenning. For the past several days the weather has been perfect and the track is now In fine condition. Indications are for fine weather tomorrow. There will be a scarcity of good riders, and those who contemplate having a try for winners arc-warned that in doing so they are taking some risk of poor management for their horses. McDaniel and Notter will be here, but that is the extent of the skillful and successful riders. Miller leaves for Saii Francisco at once, and Dugan will go either west or south. Delaby goes straight to New Orleans. There are a number of fairly good youngsters, of course, who will do the best they can, and it will be a golden opportunity for them to improve. A. K. Dade will do the starting tomorrow in place of Mars Cassidy, whose wife is seriously ill in New York, but Cassidy is expected here Monday. Joseph Murphy is here to act as placing judge and handicapper. Niue carloads of horses came in this morning from New York. John 13. Madden has six horses here, which it is his Intention to yell before the close of the meeting.
