NEW ORLEANS OFFICIALS CHOSEN. New Orleans, La., November 15. At a meeting of the directors of the Crescent City and City Park tracks held yesterday, the full list of officials that will serve during the winter term of racing was completed. The slate comprises the following per-sonel: Presiding judge, Clarence McDowell; associate judge. William Shelly; secretary and handicapper, Ed V. Miiginn; financial secretary, John llach-mcister; starter, Mars Cassidy; clerk of scales, J. K. Campbell; entry clerk, W. Norvell; timer, J. Galen Brown; ring manager. Arthur Klrod; general manager, Matt J. Winn. All the minor positions were tilled and local people chosen to officiate. At a meeting of the City Park Jockey Club all the old officers and directors were re-elected for the ensuing year, and include: D. II. Barnes, president; S. F. Heaslip, vice-president; J. Hach-meister, financial secretary; L. I. Lagarde, secretary. The directors are as follows: I. II. Barnes, 13. Corrigan, S. F. Heaslip, L. D. Lagarde, F. H. Longshore and J. B. Kespess. Both tracks are beginning to fill rapidly, and secretary Maginn is beginning to feel worried where to place all the applicants for stall room. Every train brings Its full quota of horsemen and turf followers, and a general racing air prevails already. Among the most promiiieut stables now housed at both courses are those of Burlew and ONeill, J. J. McCafferty J. A. Wernbergs division, P. Dunne, A. L. Damabv. W. S. Williams, J. U. Strode, W. II. Fizer, G. Holle, J. Griffin, P. II. Jones and Lou Johnson, with a division of Barney Schreibers. Robert Tucker has had his string here for the past week in charge of H. C. Blddle. Archie Zimni.er and U. K. Watkins, who originally intended to race at the Benuing meeting before shipping here, reconsidered and sent their strings direct from New York. They are slated to arrive tomorrow. Secretary Maginn stated today that the entry list for both tracks to the different stakes were big and some of the most prominent horses are In the number. The Derbys filled exceptionally well, and include S". C. Hildreths pair. Uncle and Meelick. Both are at present in California, but will probably be shipped here to compete for the big three-year-old stakes. B. Meyers, who claimed Tartar Maid from Jack Joyner before shipping here, sold the fast filly and St. Ilario today to Kncbelkamp and Bradfield. John Schorr is expected to arrive here shortly with the string of M. II. Tichenor and Company that lie has been training on the eastern tracks. In the lot is Good Luck, which should be a smart factor in the handicaps. C. It. Ellisons string of seventeen racers that lie intends to campaign this winter arc at present at Memphis, where trainer Brazier is giving them their final preparation prior to shipment. They will arrive November 19. Jockey Nicol is the principal rider here up to the present, but any number of pigskin artists ,are to be in evidence soon.
