ANSWERS TO QUERIES. Communications without names and addresses of senders will not be answered or noticed; nor will any answers be sent by mail.. F. M. S., St. Louis, Mo. No, but it is well enough to do so. Max G., St. Louis, Mo. An error as to the distance does not affect a bet on a race. J. C. P., Chicago. One dollar and fifty cents straight and .00 place, the place betting not being affected by the dead heat. C. M., Springfield, III. In case of a dead heat the money bet is added together and divided equally between the bettor and the bookmaker. J. I. C, Chicago, it would require too much research to answer your query. Later on tables will be compiled and published covering the matter. S. P. D., Toronto, Out. Necessarily the speculation on Dashaway was on the race iu which he was in sight as an entry, that is, the sixth race and when he was scratched from that race all wagers on him became draws. J. C. M., Chicago. Lajeunesse was a winner subject to the rule concerning dead heats, in which the money bet is added together and divided equally between the backer and the layer. At average odds the backer would have .75 coming from Lajeunesse on a bet which would parlay on the other two horses. At post odds it would lie .25. .
