St. Avon beat the barrier and set the BMC in the deepest going and, in consequence, tired badly in the stretch. Hand-me-down got into third position early and stayed there. Bal-nade was given a poor ride, but was anchored in the going and is best in sloppy mud. No Father showed brief early speed. Overweights — No Father, 2 pounds.
