February L— The recent cold weather with a high wind off the ocean, kept the horses wintering at Graveseud in their stables for the first time this winter. J. L. McGinnis, who has been at the track every day looking after his horses, says it is too cold for him, and he will have early next week for a six weeks visit at Palm Beach. "Pretty cold," says McGinnis, "but here are tickets to Palm Beach, Florida, which I will use next week, and I think it will be warm enongh down there. This winter I have been living right the Gravesend track and have been with the horses every day. "How about Frank Gill? Well, I refused a bona i fide offer for him of 5,000 a short time ago. That , enongh, isnt it? He is in fine condition and 1 looks like he would train beautifully for his engage ments. Without bragging. I believe I have one or two two-year-olds that can run a little, too. 1 1 didnt send Frank Gill to Kentucky for tfae short t stud season as I intended, because I thought it I might spoil bis temper and perhaps ruin him for racing this year. He has too many good chances for r me to do that. Mr. Dwycr advised me not to send I him to Kentucky. "All the horses are In fine health and have Iteen I out regularly, jogging and gallopng whenever the weather was favorable."
