ISSUES TO BE JOINED NEXT WEDNESDAY. New York. February 11. — Wednesday of next week lias been set for the hearing before the Cities and Judiciary Committees of tlie seuate and assembly at Albany on the anti-race track gambling measures introduced in the legislature on behest of Governor Hughes. At this hearing will center one of the most aggressive contests ever started against race track gambling in the history of New York state. White the forces now lining up in support of the govenvr have been organizing for the past three weeks, their efforts have been met with an equal displav of energy on the part of the racing association-, which realize that at last the continuance of the betting rings in this state is in dubious question. Agricultural societies throughout the state, granges, business mens organizations and civic societies have been pledged to send representatives lo Albany, ami between now- and the date of tlio hearing mass meetings will be held In every county where tracks for running and trotting races draw big crowds in the season.
