NOTES OF THE TURF. The trainers around the New York tracks have ] abandoned shed work and are now giving their l charges regular track work. Two of the subscriptions to the Dinner Stakes, which will be run April 4, have been transferred. ] One from George Howard to Preston Gibson and -the other from J. P. Story to Fred Chapin. One of the speediest two-year-olds at the Penning track is said to be Spanish Prince, the Prince of Melbourne — Spanish Match colt which Preston ■ Burch bought from H. T. Oxnard last fall. He is a late entry to the .Jesse Brown Cup. It is said in New York that A. J. Joyner may give up the public stable he has been training when , he takes charge of the Whitney horses. Mr. Joyner has made no announcement of auy move of this ! kind, but contemplates turning over the horses now in his care to his stable foreman, John Schlosser. .
