Anne McGee cut across in front of the others at the start and interfered sharply with Arionette, then took a long lead and the advantage she secured enabled her to win. Arionette, much the best, finished gamely and would have won with a clear course. Alice, lucky in escaping interference, ran a good race and finished gamely. Roeeburg II. got in a jam at the start and ran poorly. Tenorett ran fairly well, the others were badly outpaced. Scratched— 73579 Grotto, 100. Won easily; second and third driving. W-uisau got away fast and was restrained in a good position for the first half, then moved up fast througn the stretch and, wearing Prowler down in the last sixteenth, won going away. Prowler, also favored at the start, showed the most early speed and, cutting across in front of Canada in the first quarter, went into a long lead, but tired slightly in the stretch. Canada broke fast, but suffered from interference and ran far below her best form. Club Member ran a good race and was close up at the end. Milo had no mishaps. Royal Chance closed a big gap. Major McComb was going fast at the end. Red Mill was away too poorly to cut any figure in the result. My Jack ran away three miles before the start. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. . Kings Daughter, running to her true form, followed Ben Strong closely for the first quarter and, wearing him down when called on, came away in the stretch to win eased up. Escutcheon had no mishaps and ran a good, consistent race, but was no match for the winner. Ben Strong showed the most speed for the first three furlongs and then had to stand a hard drive to outstay Emergency for third place. The latter Hosed a gap, was gaining fast near the end and would have been third in a few more strides. Babe B. ran fairly well. Meadowbreeze was practicallv left at the post. Pedro ran an extra good race and had n. niislmiis. First Premium was taken back in the first quarter, but failed to respond to keen urging in the last quarter. Woodlane tired badly after going, three-quarters. Yankee Girl was always outpaced. Miss Mazzoni ran a good nice and was gaining at the end. Saiuesmv had no mishaps and was not good enough. Whisk Broom showed much the most speed for three-quarters, but tired fast in the stretch. Bereaud Jr. was never prominent and ran poorly. The others were never prominent contenders. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
