CITY PARKS LAST PERIOD. GOOD BEGINNING OF ITS CONCLUDING TWO WEEKS OF THE PRESENT SEASON. Kings Daughter Equals the Track Record at Seven Furlongs — Good Luck Defeats Kercheval, but the Latter Falls Lame. New Orleans. T.ii.. March 10. — The final two weeks of racing was iMMMtM at I ity lark this afternoon under favorable auspices. Track conditions could not lip ini| t-ovcd on. and as a good hand of racers furnished the sport, a bis crowd for a Monday was in attendance. Favoriies wore successful in six of the races, the exception coming with the running of the steeplechase, wliicli was won by Dario. one of the1 extreme outsiders. Good Luck took the feature race from Kercheval in an easy manner. The Tichenor representative was ipioted at a surprisingly sliort price, consider ing that Kercheval bad taken his measure decisively in their previous meeting. CokxI Luck went into an early lead and remained in front for the entire trip. Kercheval made a game effort after overcoming interference, but in the stretch run Uc stum bled, and in the final sixteenth his bad leg became troublesome and he save up the struggle and pulled up limping. Kings Daughter, an overwhelming favorite, took the fifth race in a canter, and that she has regained her best form was attested by her feat in equaling the track record of Ltt for seven furlongs, made by Colloquy when carrying only eighty-seven IMiunds. Tlicre were many incidents in the steeplechase. l»ario. the winner, was 40 to 1 in the betting. Gait, which finished second, had to be disqualified for refusing to take the next to the last jump, and T. Ivexington Lady, which started in the third race, fell from exhaustion after going three furlongs. She began Met ding soon after the start and her rid r failed to notice it until she fell. Jockey Xotter carried off the riding honors Ity winning with four of his mounts. Jockey Bilae was sus|iended for three flays by the 1 judges for foul riding in the fourth race. F. Burlew departed yesterday for New York, wlore lie will at once begin superintending the training of his string of racers at Gravesend.
