LINCOLNSHIRE WON BY AN OUTSIDER, Lincoln. Kngland, March 24. — The first Important race of the Knglish flat season, which opened at the Lincoln course yesterday, the Lincolnshire Handicap of 1.500 sovereigns, for three-year-olds and over, at a distance of one mile, was won today bv Mr. F. S. Barnards six year-old bay gelding, Kaffir Chlef. by Raeburn — Ingonda. ridden by the American jockey. J. EL Martin. Mr. G. Walmsleys five-year-old chestnut horse, Longeroft. by Galloping Lad — Bauble, was second, aud Mr. P. Nelkes five-year-old bay gelding. Snatch, by Eager — Salop, was third. Kaffir Chief was an outsider in the betting, being held at 100 to 7 at post time. Twenty horses MM
