NOTES OF THE TURF. Judge Murphy indelir.ely suspended iockey Hen-nessy for a bad ride ou Grenade last week at Dallas. A yearling sister to the good handicap mare. Sugarmaid. pulled rip quite lame after a workout at Oakland the other day. J. E. Wideuer has sold Sir Lynnewood lo F. D. Weir, who may take him to California together with Cressina. Fancy, Sir John, Roseben. Mllford and other horses. William Garths Student King, the three-year-old son of Orlando Belle Isle, is one of the largest horses in training, standing over sixteen hands iu height and built in proportion. Information comes from Salt Lake City that jockey .McLaughlin was simply suspended pending an investigation into his ride on Semproelle. and not ruled off. as previous reports stated. Jockey Fred Williams, the boy who rode Ben Cole to victory in the steeplechase Monday at Baltimore, is a son of the man who raced Queen of Hearts many years ago. Young Williams had educated Ben Cole in jumping and it was figured that ho would ride the little chestnut as well as any jockey, as results afterward verified.
