NEVADA TO HAVE RACE TRACK FIGHT. Reno, New. Nov. 21. A rumor which has been afloat for several weeks that race track men of California and local sports would attempt to secure a long term racing franchise from the coming legislature was confirmed today, when an option was taken on a tract of land south of the city, and it was given out that an option Would be taken on the street car system, which runs by it, if things look favorable toward the end of the year. The anti-gambling league, which is preparing a bill to prohibit gambling in Nevada, held a meeting tonight and made preparations to include horse racing iu their bill. These two features promise to make the coming session of the legislature one of the most interesting known as far as local Interest goes. The race track men also gave out that their plan would be to hold a racing season during the open season at Lake Talioe. that they might draw patronage from visitors to that resort.
