Dculchlaiul, from a striding start, ran in close pursuit to the stretch, then drew out in the last sixteenth and gamely withstood a challenge from Cressina. The latter, from a flat footed start, was messed about throughout anil closed a big gap in a belated stretch rush. Hereafter had a bad start, hut established a quick lead and succumbed linallv, but was an unexpectedly persistent third. Creation, away poorly, closed a big gap "to a fast going and close up fourth and is extra good. Fireball got off well, but lost ground steadily and was beaten off finally. St. Joe finished well. Seiflproniiini. badly outpaced earlv, closed a big gap into a fast going third and is a stayer. Captain John ran unkindly, boring out and tiring unexpectedly in the closing drive. Strike Out. after forward pursuit lor live furlongs, quit badlv. Joe Rose showed early speed, is a good looker and should improve. Doranle decisively outbroke, outpaced, outstayed and outclassed his opposition at the weights. Don Enrique ran in forward pursuit throughout and momentarily seemed like passing Doranle in the first sixteenth of the Siieteh, but tired finally. Montgomery maintained striking distance pursuit from the start and closed up rapidly on the inside in the stretch into a rushing third. Eyebright ran in prominent coutention for the first mile, hut failed 1o stay and was badly interfered with. Astronomer never recovered from crowding on the lirst turn. Tony Faust, away slowly, trailed early and loomed up on the outside on the stretch turn, but quit badly in the closing drive. Overweights Eyebright. 1 pound. Colonel While, away very badly, improved his position rapidly and loomed up on the stretch turn, but failed to nay Kiiekstmie ran forwardly for six furlongs and tired. Jeanne dArc, away badly and excessively urged iuto a long early lead, held sway iica desperate struggle to the last stride before succumbing and was best. Sewell, outpaced for the first half, finished with a rush. Prejuicio. away poorly, was well up throughout. Ocean Shore showed superior early speed and was palpably short. Collector Jessup was outrun all the way. Overweights Prejuicio. 1 pound.
