Placide showed much the most early speed, but tired iu the hist furlong. Martine H. fought it out gamely and was best of the others. Ethel W. tired after going three furlongs and sutleietl by a jam on the first turn. Delf was on the outside throughout and ran fairly well. Polypheiue was prominent most of the way.
