Cherry-oaj acted badly at the | ost and ran away a furlong at top speed, but followed Billiard Ball closely for the lirst three furlongs, wore him down steadily and drew clear in the last furlong. Jack Straw liegan slowlv and went wide into the stretch, but finished gamely and got up in the last few strides for second place. Billiard Ball, away fast, showed much the most early speed, but tired and swerved badly in the last furlong. Short Onler ran fairly well. Ethel W. was prominent for thiee furlongs.
