June 2S. — The Crand Prix de Paris. the greatest race of the year on tlie French turf, was run vesterdav over the Longchainps course in the presence of President Kallieres and 300.000 people. W. K. Vanderbilts horses. Negofol and Overnight, Which ran first and third in the Flinch Derby, were among tlie starters, but failed to place. The race was won by Maurice de Rothschilds chestnut colt. Verdnn. Rarat up. Mine. N U. Cheremeteffa Rebel!* was second and Edmund Dianes Union third. The value Of the stake was 4,155. It is the most valuable stake in the world. Steven horses faced the starter. Lord Mickelhams William the Fourth, closely attended by the Vandcr-l.ilt pair and Union, broke in front. William the Fourth made the running to the head of the stretch, where Verdun came through to victory. Rarat la the first French Jockey to win the Grand Prix since the days of Napoleon III.
