BRIGHTON BEACH IS INSISTENT. Counsel for Track Issues Statement That Its Management Desires to Resume. New York. June 30. Announcement of the scrambling for fall racing dates by the various metropolitan racing associations has created a mild sensation with the race-going public. Everybody accepts it us a sure indication of present prosperity, with greater prosperity in store for the sport. Charles II. Hvde, counsel for tho Brighton Beach Racing Association, today issued the following statement: "We have paid off more than half of our total indebtedness to horsemen during tlie past few months and expect to settle iu full before we resume racing. The "Brighton Association wants recognition and asks for dates for a fall meeting as an evidence that it is still in tho game. The track can be put in first-class condition for racing in ten days." From authoritative sources it is learned that tho application of the Brlgton Beach Association for fall dates is merely a preliminary move in the Interest of a complete restoration of its privileges as one of the Jockey Club tracks. The owners of the track are anxious to resume racing on its former schedule. It has been semi-officially announced that there will bo racing every day next week at Sheepsliead Bay and also at every other track under the jurisdiction of tho Jockey Club during the remainder of the season.
