YEARLING SALES OPEN AUSPICIOUSLY. Brother to Hotasulga Brings ,000 Average of Opening Day Is 580. New York, June 30. Thirty-four yearlings from Rimuymede, Dixiana, Racoland. Ilartland and Eden-wold Studs were sold at its Sheepshead Bay pady dock today by the Fasig-Tipton Company for a total sum of 9,725. Tho average of 80 obtained was considered distinctly encouraging under present conditions. The full brother to Notasulga, a beautiful chestnut colt by The Commoner Touch Not. bred by Walter O. Parmer at Edenwold Stud iu Tennessee, was the star of the sales. He sold for ,000 after spirited bidding, in which a majority of the prominent buyers present participated. David Dunlop, of Virginia, was tlie successful bidder and was the recipient of profuse congratulations. Tlie same breeder subsequently sold another grand looking youngster to II. McDanlel for ,100. the next highest price received. Tlie Newcastle Stable paid ,000 each for two colts, bred respectively by . Catesby Woodford and Mrs. T. J. Carson, the first being a half-brother to Searcher, and the other a full brother to Eugenia Burcli.
