La Touiec closed a big "an in the last quarter and linished witli a rush. J. II. Houghton was carried wide into the stretch and would have been second witli a better ride. John Dillon went to the front after wearing Harrington down and was never seriously menaced thereafter. Class Leader moved up gamely after going over six jumps, but was weakly ridden at the finish. Harrington fenced erratically and was bothered by his front bandages becoming loosened. Huddy was taken out of contention at the first jump and allowed to trail distantly. Star AAave, close up for the first three furlongs, passed the leaders on the stretch turn and appeared a certain winner, but faltered In the last seventy yards. Donau set a fast pace for the first three furlongs and tired in the stretch drive. Eye AVhite tired badly after going a half and rfter having forced the pace. Hyperion II. was close up for the entire trip and finished fast and gamely. Sir Edward tired in the last quarter. Slarclinionet was in close quarters for the first half and tired slightly in the last furlong. Edgely quit in the final quarter. Blagg was knocked out of anv chance soon after the start.
