J CLASH IMMINENT IN CANADA. Toronto. Ont.. August 10. A federal charter has lieen granted to the Metropolitan Racing Association of Canada, with headquarters here and an authorized capital of 00,000. The incorporators are A. A. Cotton. A. E. Melbush, A. J. Rattray. A. C. Horn-bv and P. F. Callou, of Toronto, and John McRcan, of Georgetown. The new organization has options on several tracks, principally of the half-mile description. Botli trotting and running races will be given. The charter allows bookmaking. The promoters declare they will respect Jockey Club rulings in the United States for fraud. The move probablv means racing throughout eastern Canada in opposition to the Canadian Racing Associations.
