Stoiypin followed the leaders closely for half of the journey, but was crowded out on the rar turn and pocketed for the first furlong in the stretch, then finished resolutely under an inadequate ride. Marlgot, outrun early and sluiiiled rearward, made up much ground in the last three furlongs. St. Deiniol showed superior speed for the first half mile and quit badly.
