JOCKEY POWERS SUSPENSION INDEFINITE. Saratoga. N. Y.. August 20. R. T. Wilson. Jr.. who is acting as deputy for August Delmont in Jockey Cluli affairs during the latters absence in Europe, announced today that the stewards of the Jockey Club have made the suspension of jockey Powers indefinite. The news of Powers indefinite suspension created a tremendous sensation in turf circles. It practically means that the premier jockey of the country will be henceforth debarred from riding and that his license will be revoked. No reasons wen- assigned for the unusual action taken in Powers case. He had been suspended merely for the meeting last Saturday while riding Fauntleroy for a foul which lie diil not commit. It is not believed flint Powers punishment is a result or the Fauntleroy incident or has any connection with it.
