Besom, fioni a rearward start, was rushed through on the Inside and, establishing a quick lead, held sway with dazzling speed throughout and was much the best. Druamer, from a Hying start, was outpaced for half of the journey, but closed up with a fast, but unavailing, stretch sprint and is in rare form. Fort Johnson ran in persistent contention throughout and shows steady improvement. Lady Irma. shuttled back at the start and badly- outpaced early, seemed to be sulking, but finished a close up fourth with a belated streteli rush. Royal Captive ran in nearest and strenuous early pursuit, hut tired badly midway of the stretch. Shannon was decisively outpaced and outstayed from first to last. Expansionist, best ridden, was reserved in striking distance pursuit of the pacemaker, drew out when Grandpa landed badlv at the half and won as his rider pleased finally. Grandpa. Interfered with at the water jump bv Bigot, blundered when in the lead at the fourteenth jump and resigned the lead to Expansionist and could never get up again under a had ride. . K. trailed for a mile and a half, then came 011 and earned third place after the others were virtually eliminated. Sunglow was hoeessly outpaced all the way and also fenced poorly. Start good. Won easily; second and third driving. Little King drew out gradually and increased his lead as the race progressed. Ten Paces was in forward pursuit throughout and finished gamely. Fighting Bob, outrun, but within hailing distance to the stretch, finished with a rush. Captain Swanson trailed patiently for a half mile and finished with a great rush. Judge Lassing, from a slow start, met early Interference and was pocketed at the half, was then rushed up and ran out on the far turn, again closed a gap quickly and loomed up in the stretch, but tired finally. Diction, from a slow start, steadilv improved his position. Frank G. Hogan ran in nearest attendance for a half mile, but failed to stay. The winner was entered for : no bid. . Field Mouse alertly and vigorously ridden, outbroke and outpaced her opposition, but just lasted long enough and was lucky. Wlntergreen ran in nearest and persistent pursuit at a terrific pace and was wear; ing the leader down fast at the end and was best. Gliding Belle ran forwardly and persistently throughout and is extra good. Donald Macdonald. away very badly, closed an immense gap and finished with a great rush in a cracking effort. Crystal Maid was always outpaced, but ran a fine race under her heavy weight. Miss Kearney, from a slow start, made up ground steadily. Wise Mason. 011 the inside in close quarters and repeatedly interfered with, tired and ran a poor race comparatively. Arondack, hopelessly outpaced all the way. seemed stale and sore. Bellevlew trailed In hailing distance early and closed up moderately in the last half, but was never dangerous and ran a bad race. Albert Star trailed a had last to the stretch and, finishing with a rush, just failed for third place. Hurlock ran in prominent contention for the first mile, but failed to stay. Anthro-palda, after being reserved in leisurely pursuit to the stretch, drew out and won off pulling up. MarigoL from an inside bad start, was pocketed and pulling up early, bat got up for second place In a sensational closing sprint. Flying Footsteps outbroke the others and led by a wide early gap, but tired in the stretch. Dominica, after nearest and strenuous pursuit, tired badly at the end. Odd Rose was well up from the. start and gaining in the closing drive. Queens Song ran prominently for five furlongs and quit badly. Silk showed brief speed.
