TOURENNE SUCCUMBS TO SUDDEN SICKNESS. New York, August 31. R. J. Mackenzies Tourenne a live-year-old bay horse by Oddfellow Ethel Thomas, died a day or two ago at the Sheepshead Bay course, whither he had been shipped at the close of the recent meeting at Windsor. Ont. Death resulted from congestion of the lungs. The horse was taken sick while en route from Windsor and when he arrived in New Yrok it was apparent that he was in a bad way. On his arrival at the Coney Island Jockey Clubs track his temperature was 105. He lingered for forty-eight hours, when death wound up the career of this good racer. Tourenne was bred in Kentucky by Frederick A. Forsythe and raced successfully in the Forsvthe colors until his sale for 0.K0 to Mr. Mackenzie, a leading Canadian sportsman. His blood lines were highly thought of by pedigree experts, and it was the intention of his owner to send him to the stud at the end of his usefulness as a racer.
