CHANGE IN SANFORD STABLE PLANS. Product of Hurricana Stud to Be Raced Earlier in Year in Succeeding Seasons. Saratoga. N. Y., Augnst 31. Radical changes will be immediately made in the conduct of the racing stable owned by General Stephen Sanford. The representatives of Hurricana Stud have not done well during the meeting just closed and at a consultation held this week between General Sanford, trainer II. II. Hyner and John Sanford, the generals son. plans were made for marked departures in the training methods for the season of 1!10. Instead of attempting to fit the horses at Hurricana Farm,, which is situated near Amsterdam, N. Y.. the yearlings will be tried out there In the late fall and sent to Sheepshead Bay or Belmont Park and fitted down there in the early spring. This means that the Hurricana horses will not be handicapped as they have been in the past and especially at tills meeting Just closed, by competing witli older and more seasoned horses. The Saiifords also will weed out their present string and sell at auction, at Sheepshead Bay, on September 8. those so selected. The year-Hugs, during the fall, will be well culled out as well. Hurricana Farm annually produces a splendid lot of race horses, as such good sires as Rockton. Chnc-tanunda. Caughnawaga. Clifford. Isidor and Potomac are standing there and some of the broodmares are of the first class. It is understood from tills change of the training that General Sanfords horses will be raced firogram n the two-year-old stakes at the spring meetings at Belmont Park, Gravesend and Sheepshead Hay. Heretofore none of the Sanford horses ever appeared under colors before the Saratoga meeting. The list of horses that will be sold on September S is as follows: Fort Johnson, four-year-old; Duucraggan and Nunda, three-year-olds, and these two-year-olds: Montcalm. Ta Nun Da. St. Regis. Horlcon, Queens Song. Cherry Valley, Lucerne. Owagna, Agnier, To niata, Montague. Shawnee. Carolin. Guy Fonda, Bal-rock. the Barberina colt and the Richfield colt.
