BELMONTS FOND MEMORIES IS SECOND. London, Eng.. September 1. August Belmonts Fond Memories finished second in the Devonshire Nursery Plate handicap of 500 sovereigns, for two-year-olds, distance 5 furlongs and 100 yards, at Derby today. Harry Payne Whitneys Oversight ran unplaced. Summary of the race: H. H. Collins Sunshine, br. c, by Sundridge Sweet Notes. 12:: 1 August Belmonts Fond Memories, ch. f. by Octagon Fond Hopes. IPS 2 J. Atuchas El Pelado, ch. c, by Desmond Aiix. 114 :: Tin; Rangemore Plate, a high-weight handicap of HNS sovereigns, for three-year-olds and upward, distance live furlongs, was won by Well Done. 0111 Dara was second and Lantana third. Among the nineteen starters was II. P. Whitneys Sixty II. The Harrington Plate, of .100 sovereigns, for-two-year-olds, ilistancc five furlongs, was won by Apache. Lord Falmouths Seraphine was second and Flail third. Seven horses started. Including C. Carrolls Torchbearer.
