Waldo, flatfooted and stumbling at the start, lost several lengths and trailed to the stretch, then closed up with a rush, but was Impeded by the winner and could never get up and was unlucky and inadequately ridden. Sententious ran In nearest early pursuit and tired badly in the closing drive. Miami ran prominently for half of the journey and retired, but luushed well up. Etherial was reserved in striking distance pursuit of the pacemakers in the early running, then closed up rapidly and, drawing out decisively midway of the stretch, won as his rider pleased. Arcite, away poorly, improved Ills position gradually on the outside, momentarily led on the stretch turn, but succumbed quicklv to Etherial in the stretch and was a game and persistent second. Notasulga made the running for half of ihe journey before being headed and held on gamely for third place. Harlem Maid, after nearest early attendance ou the pacemaker, was shuttled back on the far turn, but came again with a belated rush anil just failed to get up for third place. Cliff Edge trailed a bad last to the stretch, where he made up some ground. La Belle Agnes was prominent for a half mile and probably short. Scratched 8358 King Sol. 111. Ostend, taken back in the early running, moved up with a rush on the last turn and, drawing out in the stretch, won off pulling up. Ten Paces, forward- placed from the start, was shuttled rearward on the far turn and came, through on the inside and closed a big gap at the end, but tired and just lasted to save second place. Dixie Dixon trailed for half of the journey and closed up rapidly on the outside in a belated stretch sprint and just failed to get up for second place. Helen Carroll made the running to the stretch and dropped out. Captain Swanson, after nearest pursuit, quit simultaneously with the leader. Mazariu is good looking and was in prominent contention to the stretch, then tired and was pulled up at the end. The winner was entered for ,000: no bid. Rose Queen, from a flying start, spreadeagled her opposition for five and a half furlongs, then tired badly at the end. Arondack, crowded out and pulling up at the start, trailed hopelessly rearward to the stretch, then closed an immense gap and finished runniug faster than the leaders. Practical, badly outpaced in the early running, finished like a cyclone in a cracking effort. Tim Pippin, after nearest pursuit of the leader under a pull to the stretch, failed badly in the closing drive. Seuten-tious showed superior early speed and retired quickly. Bonnie Kelso is in rare form and. from a llying start, held a small lead for the first quarter, then dropped in behind Juggler for a mile of the middle running and drew out again in the last quarter and won afs his rider pleased. Albert Star ran into third place and stayed there to the stretch, then loomed up menacingly into :t fast going second. Belleview ran well throughout and outstayed the others decisively for third place. Juggler injudiciously made the running for a mile and a quarter and failed to stay, but ran a good race. County Clerk was never dangerous and hopelessly outpaced in a far rearward position from first to last. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. Scratched S435S King Sol, 105. Jacquelina ran in quick nearest aud persistent, but unavailing, pursuit of the leader in a game and fast effort. Democrat, well up to the stretch, was inadequately ridden at the end. Searus trailed and was outpaced at all stages.
