ACTIVITY AT HAWTHORNE TRACK. nawthorne race track yesterday resounded with hoofbeats of thoroughbreds working in preparation for the Labor Day card which former Alderman Tom Carey has announced. The track is fast in fact, the trainers say that it never was in better condition. Roy Hennessy. who is looking after the card for the single day of racing, gave out the conditions last night as follows: First Race Three-quarters of a mile, for three-year-olds and over. Second Race Five-eighths of a mile, for three-yea r-olds and over. Third Race Seven-eighths of a mile, for four-year-olds and over. Fourth Race One mile, for four-year-olds and over. Fifth Race Stock Yards Derby, for 00 purse, five-eighths of a mile. Hugh E. Keougu will probably officiate as presiding judge and John Uogau us starter.
