Besom outbroke the others, but was reserved under a pull close in behind the pacemaker, then drew out decisively midway of the stretch and is in rare form. Rose Queen established a quick lead and was waited with in front, succumbed to the winners challenge in the stretch, but was a game second. Mary Davis ran forwardly and persistently throughout and got up in the last stride of a fast finish for third place. Half Sovereign, away badly, closed a big gap quickly into forward attendance and loomed up menacingly in the Stretch, but tired in the closing strides. De Mund, pulling up at the start, steadily improved his position, but was never dangerous. Emperor William, away poorly, closed a moderate gap and is a good looker. High Range ran prominently to the stretcli and quit. Louise S- had a bad start and was not ready. Florimel showed early speed. Andrew Summers made the running under a pull at a slow pace and, when beginning the last lialf, stole a long lead and held sway to the end easily. Bobbin Around, reserved under a pull too long, fenced poorly and. in a belated closing half-mile challenge, could never get up, but probably was best. Alamansor ran forwardly for a mile and a half and was left in the rear in the closing sprint, but was easily best of the others. Monte Carlo, always outpaced, fenced poorly and was slow on the flat.
