OWNERS ESTIMATE OF LIVONIA ADVANCES. New York, September 15. -Max Illrsch quite properly thinks highly of Livonia. When a horseman who wanted to buy the filly yesterday asked him to put a price on her. he said he could not do It offhand. "It is like this," the young trainer explained. "Last Friday, before Livonia defeated Prince Imperial, I was willing to sell her for ,500. But since she beat a 0,000 colt without half trying and then came back and won the Great Eastern from such youngsters as Fauntleroy, Dalmatian and Chickasaw. I am Inclined to think she Is worth more than ,500. Perhaps she Is a 5,000 animal. She Is as fast as the wind and I am convinced that she can go a long route under weight. Livonia had bad ankles earlier In the year, but they yielded to treatment, and I do not believe they will bother her again." Livonias easy victory in the Great Eastern cheered Robert Forsythe Little mightily. It showed him that the filly that made a show of his high-priced colt was no common two-year-old.
