SHEEPSHEAD BAYS PLEASING RESULTS; New York, September 15. Schuyler Parsons and Francis R. Hitchcock, respectively president and treasurer of the Coney Island Jockey Club, were more than pleased with the results of the autumn meeting, which came to an end at the Bay Monday. "We did not lose money," Mr. Parsons says. "I think our books may show a small profit when they are balanced. But in its other aspects the meeting has been so good we would not have felt badly if we had lost a little. The size and character of the crowds which have seconded our efforts to keep racing on a high plane have been keenly gratifying to us. Our clubhouse attendance has been remarkably good and our patrons have been representative men and women. 1 am convinced that the metropolitan tracks that are to hold fall meetings after us will be as successful as we were, and conditions next year should be better all around. We intend to advance the values of purses and stakes as rapidly as we can and since we will have no heavy obligations of long standing to meet next season we will be able to distribute our money more equitably than we have this season."
