GETTING READY FOR LEXINGTON SALE. New York-. September 22. W. L. Powers is busy just now preparing for the Kentucky sale of thoroughbreds which will lie conducted by the Fasig-Tii-ton Company at Lexington, during the week beginning Novemlior 29. Consignments of stallions, mares and weanlings and yearlings will lie sent to this sale from all parts of the breeding district. John E. Madden will sell twenty matrons to make room at Hamburg Place for young marcs of his own breeding. Two of the young mares. Mr. Madden will retire this season are the three-year-olds Lady Bedford and Mis"s Kearney. Lady Bedford was shipped to Hamburg Place a couple of weeks ago. Miss Kearney will go to Kentucky after the coming Belmont Park meeting.
