THREATENING WEATHER AT TAMPA. Tampa, Fla., January 3. There was a decreased attendance to witness the racing this afternoon, threatening weather being held to blame. Speculation was light and the victories of well backed horses caused the layers a big loss. New Star furnished the main incident of the afternoon by running away and acting fractiously before the start and then winning after a spirited drive with Rose Me-Gee. The steamer J. II. Morgan, which left Pensacola with 120 horses aboard, and as many passengers last Sunday, has not been heard from in to the present. It is expected that she will reach here sometime during tbe night. Jockey Gliisner, who was badly Injured at Latonia during the spring meeting by a fall from Trltouia, had his first mount today since the accident. Jockey D. Murphy was granted a probationary license by the officials. Jockeys AArispen, Ormes, Pickett and Griffin were each suspended for two days by the starter for disobedience at the post. E. AV. Moores Gold Leaf, which had a shoulder fractured at Pensacola by collisiou with one of C. T. Pattersons two-year-olds, will not be raced again.
