MUTUELS FOR VANCOUVER TRACK. Vancouver, R. C, February 1. The racing season at Minora Park this year will commence on Saturday. June 24, and VaueoUver followers of the thoroughbreds will get twenty-eight days of their favorite sport during the summer. The British Columbia Thoroughbred Association and the Vancouver Jockey Club, which control raciHg on the mainland, recently held a conference regarding dates for the season. It is planned to have one of the clubs hold the lirst racing on Saturday. June 24, running to the following Saturday, July 1. Then the other club will cut in a bit later. The second meeting of each club will be held in August. It is not known at this time whether Victoria will have racing or not. but it is understood that the Capital City horsemen will make an effort to pull off two seven-day meetings over there. Racing Secretary Robert F. Leighton of the British Columbia Thoroughbred Association announces that the directors of Minora Park have decided that there shall be no bookmiiking upon that course this season. The association has already placed an order for ten muttiel machines or the latest and most tip-to-datc pattern, including the new register attachment, with C. F. Graingtr and Company of Louisville. Ky. Thro machines will be delivered and installed early in May.
