BOOKMAKING BARRED IN NEW ZEALAND, The Xew Zealand racing law which prohibits street and race course lKxikmaking went into effect yesterday. At present lwwkmakers are licensed by the government and clubs are compelled to allow them to operatu at race meetings, whether or no they desire it. In future the totalizator will be the only legal method of race course speculation in the island dominion of the southern seas.
