LOUISVILLE STALLS IN GREAT DEMAND. Louisville. Ky.. April .!. Edward Jasper, who otliciated at Juarez as racing secretary and who will till a similar position this spring for the New Ixuisville Jockey Club during the meeting beginning May 1". arrived today from the Mexican track and Immediately entered upon his duties. For the present w will be engaged in assigning stable room at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park to those horseman who ship here from Mexico. Florida aud elsewhere. It looks now as if there will be nearly 1.800 horses hen; to compete in the Downs meeting. After looking over the lists of those who have applied for stable room, Mr. Jasper predicted that racing in Louisville this spring will be the greatest turf patrons liavo ever known in these parts. A special from Juarez consisting of twelve cars with twelve horses to the car left that place today and is expected to arrive here Thursday. It is running on passenger train schedule. On the same day a special of at least ten cars will arrive from Jacksonville. Mr. Jasper reports that racing at Juarez is on :t healthy basis and he predicts that next season Juarez will be the scene of one of the greatest- winter meetings America has ever had. El Paso, he says, has grown rapidly. Col. Matt J. Winn, general manager of the Juarez track, accompanied by Harry Breivogel. will leave Juarez tomorrow for a trip to Seattle and the northwest. They will arrive In Louisville in fifteen davs. Judge W. 11. Shellny will arrive here next Wednesday, night. Judge Charles F. Price, who was steward at Juarez, Is still at Magnolia Springs, Ala.
