PROGRESS ON COLORADOS RACING i-LL. Denver, Col.. April 3. Senator Cornforths bills for the apiointment of a state racing commission to supervise racing in Colorado aud authorize betting by the pari-mutuel system are pending on secoud reading in the House of Representatives, with ait amendment legalizing ten-round pugilistic contests before bona tide athletic clubs, provided no decision shall Iks given. Little opposition has bccii shown to the bills or to the amendment and Representative Walker, who introduced the pugilistic amendment, says that he has been assuredby a majoritv of the members that they will vote for both bills and foe the amendment. The vote will come on Wednesday. It" the bills are passed. .on second reading--they will no longer bo subject to amendment,, the. ..vqto" nt third reading usually being a" mere formality-,.- If the pugilistic amendment should lo adopted the bills will have to be scut back to the Senate for concurrence.
