DERBY CANDIDATES ARE VIRTUALLY READY. Nothing hut Slow Work Required Yesterday of Eligibles for Saturdays Great Race. Louisville,. Ky.. May 10. The Kentucky Derby candidates virtually had a day of rest at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park today. The favorite, Round the World, cantered slowly once around the inner track and was then walked about the sheds for an hour or two. She looked extra well and her appearance pleased her following. Judging from W. G. Yankes training methods, he may not do much more with hor before she carries colors in the big race on Saturday next. lie will probably give her a slow quarter tomorrow and on Friday work her about half a mile. She is ready and the work-watchers, now at the Downs think she will run the race of her career on Saturday. Colston did even less than Round the World today. His trainer did not have him out for more than half an hour and he only cantered slowly for half a mile.
