SUNSTAR WINS ANOTHER RICH RACE. London, Eng., May 10. At Newmarket today, on the second day of the Newmarket Second Spring meeting, the Newmarket Stakes of thirty sovereigns each, with 1.000 sovereigns added, for three-year-olds, at a mile and a quarter, was won by J. B. Joels bay or brown colt, Sunstar,. by Sundridge Doris, which won the Two Thousand Guineas recently. W. Raphaels bay colt, Beaurepaire, by Fariman Politesse, was second, and Lord Derbys bay filly, Persephone,, by Persimmon Princess Melton, was third. Seven started and Sunstar was a great favorite at odds-on. The Spring Stakes, of twenty sovereigns each, with 200 sovereigns added, for two-year-olds, at five furlongs, was won by Lord Roseberys bay colt, Clo-dius, by Cicero Terpitnde, with W. Raphaels brown colt, Tonypandy, by Fariman Politesse, second, and Sir E. Cassels chestnut colt. Gallon, by Gallinule Flair, third. A selling plate of 103 sovereigns, for two-year-olds, at five furlongs, was won by II. P. Whitneys ch. g. Uranus, by Burgomaster Urania, with the Ian Emmy Lou filly second and Acsu third.
