LOUISVILLE PADDOCK TO BE EXTENDED. Louisville. Ky.. June 7. — Some improvements have been planned for Churchill Downs this summer, to be completed by time for the fall meeting. The paddock park is to be increased in size by removing the long stable now occupied by the horses of Henderson A: Hogaa and W. G. Yanke. so as to give a clear view of tin- track from the paddock building, and to take the place of this barn a new stable will be built near the seven-furlongs post below the clubhouse. The object in increasing the size of the paddock park is to give room ultimately for extending the betting ring which has all along been in contemplation by the New Louisville Jockey tub management. n Derby Day and other important OCCatloas the present enclosure is far too small to BCCOauaadate the attendance. Fifteen years ago, Whea the present betting ling was arranged, it was large enough to meet all demands. Even ou average days now the congestion is plainly noticed, while on big days the crowding au.l jostling is well-nigh unbearable at times. The pari null uel machines and cashiers boxes also call for more room than the bookmakers occupied in the old days.
