BEDWELL TAKES PURSE AT LAGOON. Salt Lake City, Utah, June 7. — Notwithstanding that todays card was of the selling variety with no special features, a large and representative crowd was in attendance. The fourth race attracted the most attention, as the class of sprinters entered promised an interesting contest. The success of Elizabeth Harwood was particularly gratifying to owner H. a. Bedwell. as it signalized his first success since his reinstatement. Incidentally the track record held by Terns Trick was lowered. The colors of the veteran turfman. O. B. Morris, were seen In front when Workboi won the third race. Terns Trick was acquired today bv Powell and Parker. Increased speculation in the ring induced George Rose. Joe Rose. W. R. Engstrom and Prank Bain to rejoia the ranks of the layers today. The success of Tavora. a favorite with local race-goers, entailed a considerable loss to the ring, she lieing heavily backed bv the Salt Lake contingent and the followers of the Clow stable.
