TO INVESTIGATE SECRETARYS AFFAIRS. Lexington, Ky., August 21. Chairman E. F. Clay las called a meeting of the Kentucky State Racing Commission to be hold here next AVednesday morning, at which an investigation into the mysterious disappearance or Secretary AV. E. Ridwell, the condition of his office and the commissions bank account, which was entrusted to the secretary, will lie made. .Mr. Bidwell has not been heard from by any member of the commission for about two months and his present whereabouts is unknown to them. If he does not put in an appearance by AVednesday morning the ollice will le declared vacant and his successor probablv will be chosen. Racing Secretary AVilliam H. Shelley of the Ken- tuckv Association arrived from Louisville today and opened his ollice at the local track in preparation for the fall meeting. The yearling brotner to Sylvestris and a yearling sister to Mary Emily in the string of George J. Stoll worked a quarter in 23J at the Kentucky Association track this morning. The body of former jockey "Soup" Perkins, who dropped dead at Hamilton, Ont., last week, was interred hens yesterday afternoon. Garret I. AVilson, secretary of the Kentucky Association and owner of the Iroquois Stud of thoroughbreds, will retire from the livery business in this city and has leased his famous "Horsemens Headquarters" to Jefferson 1. Harp, who will take possession October 1.
